Special Resolution Vote - Declaration of Result
Kia ora whānau,
The final result for the 2025 Special Resolution vote conducted by internet, postal vote and ballot box collection at the AGM and that closed on Sunday 30 November 2025 is listed below.
Special Resolution
Adult members were asked if they agreed:
a. To the proposed amendments to the current Te Ātiawa o Te Waka-a-Māui Trust Deed to comply with the Māori Fisheries Amendment Act 2024 and to ensure continued compliance with the updated Māori Fisheries Act 2004;
b. And that the amendments contemplated above are for the collective benefit of all members of the Iwi.
As 97.04% of valid votes cast on the Special Resolution voted in favour of the resolution, I declare that the Special Resolution is carried by the required 75% majority.
The voter return was 10.81%, being 373 votes received from 3,451 eligible electors, of whom 57.37% voted online and 42.63% voted by post or at the AGM.
