Whānau Voice

Whānau Voice

E te whānau, we have teamed up with Te Kāhui Hauora o Te Tauihu IMPB to gather the voice of whānau when it comes to all things health in our rohe.

Why? Because we believe that it is whānau – not the system – who are best placed to make decisions about their own hauora. Your views and experiences enable us to advocate and push for real change.

One way whānau can share their views and experiences of the health system is via our online survey which is open through to May 31, 2026.

Every registered member who completes this survey and chooses to leave their name will go into a draw to win a month’s power bill - paid by us!

If you need assistance completing the survey or want to kōrero with someone directly, we are here to help. Simply email office@teatiawatrust.co.nz

About Te Kāhui Hauora IMPB

Te Kāhui Hauora o Te Tauihu is the Iwi Māori Partnership Board (IMPB) for Te Tauihu. It was established under the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures)
Act 2022 to work alongside the health system and ensure that the experiences and aspirations of whānau across Te Tauihu are heard, valued,
and embedded into decision-making.

About the survey

Whānau Voice Te Tauihu has been developed to capture the experiences, needs, and aspirations of whānau Māori across Te Tauihu. It is structured
around the seven IMPB priorities identified in our Community Health Plan: Access to High-Quality Care, Cancer, Mental Health, Workforce, Cultural
Connection, Health Literacy, and Rongoā). Survey questions are also mapped to NZ Health Targets, Hauora Māori Advisory Committee (HMAC) population priorities and Primary Care priorities. The intention is not to duplicate the system’s reporting, but to ensure our voices and experiences sits alongside those measures and provide critical context.

What will the information be used for?

• Clear, whānau-led priorities and actions to improve access, quality and outcomes in primary, community, and hospital care in Te Tauihu

• Our advice and accountability conversations with Te Whatu Ora | Health NZ and the Hauora Māori Advisory Committee to advance Māori outcomes in our rohe

• Practical solutions with kaupapa Māori approaches that strengthen services for whānau, hapū and iwi across the rohe

Time and participation

The survey takes about 15 minutes and can be completed on mobile or desktop at a time that suits you, including the option to pause and return
if needed. If you would prefer to kōrero with someone directly, that can be easily arranged. Just contact the office.
